The First Christian Church of the Valley was founded by Reverend Victor Valdes in 1934 with the assistance of Marcelo Garcia. During a prayer service in Houston Texas, Brother Garcia received a call from the Lord to open a church in Manhattan. He attended Bethel Temple on 114th Street in Manhattan where he met Rev. Valdes. Together, they started holding services in different homes on the West Side of Manhattan. But, the call was for a church on the East Side – on 27th Street.
Over the years, there have been nine pastors that have ministered to the church and the community. The previous pastors of the church were:
Rev. Victor Valdes, Rev. Max Lopez Diaz, Rev. Manuel Cordero, Rev. Carlo Vazquez, Rev. Gilberto Velez, Rev. Angel Melendez, Rev. Carlos Villanueva, and Rev. Luis Robles.
